You have googled it and re-googled it. You have watched the review by Clarkson on Top Gear. The enticing advertisement has had you transfixed when it appears in between the boring advert about insurance or the PPI claims ad that is repeated at least ten times during an average daily period of television viewing. You can’t get it out of your head – you are head over heels and quite inextricably in love with it. You just have to have it.
The fun part is always selecting the paint job, the interior, the special features and accessories and then there is the cringe part while you wait for the finance to be approved, after what seems like a lifetime sat in the dealership, usually on a Saturday while the footballs on or your mates invited you round for a BBQ and a few beers. Then they say it’s yours and you can even choose the car number plate! Your new car is born!
However, in most people’s experience, the choice of car number plate is not very exciting in terms of numbers and letters. So, those whizzes at the DVLA have an answer to your prayers – the yearly two digit series – this year the 14 series, boasting such registrations as RE14 TED and GT14 XXX. For those who want to completely personalise their new pride and joy – these are a must have.
In fact personalising your ride is so straight forward these days whether it’s purchasing a road legal car number plate or purchasing a show plate for that owner’s club rally, there are simply loads to choose from. The DVLA has on average 30 million registrations on their site for auction, with a straightforward set up fee of £80 assignment, included in every registration price. What’s more there a number of reasonable and good value for money sites who you can instruct to make your car number plates or show plates up, once you have the right documentation.
For the keen motorist on the road, a personalised car number plate can be an extension of that driver’s personality or the for the club member of a more antiquated vehicle it can add the final touches to a show display, even raising an eyebrow or better still an amused chuckle, spelling out some hilarious phrases.

Whatever, your style and taste in paintwork and interior, a personalised car number plate or show plate can add the finishing touch to personalising your ride and making you stand out in a crowd or traffic queue.
