As it turns out, the number plate 1 DUK is going to be auctioned off in July/ August sometime and is predicted to entice bids of around £25,000-£30,000. The number plate is originally from the ‘60s and spent years fastened to a Ford Zephyr of all things. Originally it seems to have had nothing to with One Direction but has been adopted as such.

The director of Fieldings Auctioneers, Nick Davies, said: “It took some time to realise the significance. The number plate had been in private hands for years. ‘The vendor, who no longer drives, hopes it will appeal to 1D fans.”

Parents, it’s advised to hide your cards and chequebooks if you’re daughter has recently started driving and has fondness for 1D. You have been warned.
